• World Statistics Day will be observed on Workshop on entitled ‘Demographic and Readership Status of Literate Youth in the North-Eastern States of India’ held on July 5, 2011 in the Department of Statistics, Gauhati University under the sponsorship of NCAER-CMCR and National Book Trust, (NBT), New Delhi.
• World Statistics Day observed on October 20, 2011 with a seminar in the Department of Statistics. Resource persons from various Govt. and Institutions have been participated to observe such an auspicious day. In this auspicious day Department of Statistics felicitated some retired professors and some personals having major contributions in statistics.
• Department of Statistics will organize a National Conference on “Statistical Theory and Its Practice” during December 23-24, 2011 with a one day pre-conference workshop on “Health Statistics and Competing Risk Theory” on December 22, 2011. Details of the Conference have been launched in the University website.
