- a powder X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and a sequential X-ray fluorescence spectrometer (XRF) for research, analysis and training purposes areas like in phase identification, particle size determination, study of crystallinity of materials, thin film study, qualitative and quantitative elemental analysis.
- workshop for repair and maintenance of laboratory equipments
- glass blowing facilities for repair and fabrication of glasswares
- material characterisation facility
Existing linkages with industry:
- practical training and final semester projects of students at OIL,BRPL,HPC,Gauhati Refinery
- representation of OIL, BRPL, Assam Carbon in the formulation of curriculum for M.Sc. Instrumentation
