The department organized a number of National / International seminars in the last 5 years:

• Education in Crisis An Interdisciplinary Seminar

a. Seminars:

1. Seminar On "Edward W Said And The Politics Of Culture", January 30-31, 2004.
2. Three-day National seminar on "Mikhail Bakhtin and the Aesthetics of Transgression" on January 4, 5 and 6, 2005 jointly organised by the Department of English, and The Forum on Contemporary Theory, Vadodara.
3. Two-day Seminar on "Amitav Ghosh and Travel" on April 26-27, 2005 as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations.
4. One-day Seminar on Writing the City held at the department in collaboration with Katha on Nov 16 2005.
5. Three day National Seminar on "Re-reading Jane Austen" from October 30 to November 1, 2006.

b. Workshops:

Theatre Workshop with Aadil Hussain: On 9th Jan 2006 Aadil Hussein well known actor and NSD Alumnus conducted a workshop on the actor’s craft.
