Eligibility

B. A. / B. Sc. with major in Economics or 45 % marks in Economics (general).

Admission Criteria*

On the basis of marks in Economics (major) at bachelor degree level of Gauhati University.

Structure

13 compulsory and three optional courses distributed over 4 semesters.

Short-Term Programme

Workshops, Seminars and Training Programmes etc. (During the Tenth Plan Period)

  • Three UGC sponsored Refreshers' courses were organized for college teachers in collaboration with the Academic Staff College, Gauhati University.
  • An ICSSR sponsored national seminar on Rural Transformation with Special Reference to North East Region was organized jointly with the Department of Commerce 0n February 26-27, 2003.
  • An academic lecture was delivered by Prof. V R Panchmukhi, Chairman, ICSSR on Challenges to Development. ICSSR sponsored workshop for young researcher on Preparation of Research Project Proposals held on 11-2-2005.
  • Lecture by Prof. Geza Feketekuty of Monterey Institute of International Studies on 'Use of the DOHA Round for enhancing India's trade inn services.' on Feb. 24, 2005. (In collaboration with American center, Kolkata)
  • Workshop on Preparation of Self Instructional Material on Economics for Distance Education Programme on November 10 2005.
  • Workshop on Preparation of Research Proposal for Young and Prospective Researchers on January 12, 2006.
