Masters in Chemistry (M. Sc.) Programme (2 Years)

Specialization in Organic, Physical and Inorganic Chemistry.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D.) Programme (3 to 5 Years)

The department admits students into the Ph.D. programme in the month of January every year. There is no fixed number of students admitted. But each faculty member is allowed to have a maximum of 8 registered doctoral students (non-sponsored) at any point of time. In addition, project staff is allowed to involve in research work in the laboratories of the department. After provisionally registering the synopsis of the proposed research work submitted by a researcher, the research topic as such, or in a modified form is finally registered following the presentation of research findings in a departmental seminar. The examined thesis needs to be defended in an open viva before the award of the Ph.D. degree.
